We Hit & Run – When I Come Of Age.


We Hit & Run has always been a very personal broadcast, based primarily on the life experiences of Kevin Scampoli, including the many family members and characters he has included on the show.
“When I Come Of Age” is the first of a potential series of compilations consisting of the greatest stories and anecdotes from Kevin’s family life and childhood- including his 7-year-old black hump-friend Jordan Gerrior, his drunk degenerate aunt Lisa McCormack, he and his brother’s horrific camping experience with their dirtbag, family-ditching uncle, their embarrassment during school projects that they had to complete themselves, his reason for his twin fetish and his high school crush Sophia Harlow, and much more.
This clip show contains everything that Kevin Scampoli believes is good about radio, blogging, comedy, and podcasting.

  • Paranoia: Fresh off of the recording of Jim & Them’s Halloween Special (debuting October 30th, 2009), Kevin enters the studio feeling sheepish and unnaturally high. Concerned over his perspective on the previous night’s film-making, he confronts each member of Jim & Them to match each person’s perspective with his own.
  • Philosophy: If you held a single piece of information that decided the fate of the world- where would you hide it? What is mankind’s greatest regret?
  • Paper Routes: Possibly the most Americana occupation of any child’s adolescence, the paper route was a job held by both Kevin and Jim Scampoli. With tales of responsibility, malicious urine, and north-pointing eyeballs- the two reminisce on days of great responsibility.

The result is a series of new on-call third mics for Kevin to call every week, each renamed to reflect characters of WHAR past.
  • Animal Suicide: Are humans the only species to knowingly commit suicide? What are the parameters of an official suicide? What is the story behind the “Dog Suicide Bridge” found in Sweden?
  • The “N” Word: An African-American eleven year old is making national headlines and network appearances for taking a stand against a word that he can’t even say in national headlines or on networks. Kevin decides to mentor this child shock-jock, while taking the N-word back for the white people.
